My band did another cover!  This one is intended for a movie trailer.  Our rep is pitching it to a few movies right now, so I'll let you guys know if it gets placed.   

 

I do music for a living, guys.  Art is just my hobby.    Our rep asked us to cover Katy Perry because he's got a high budget film who wants some music for their movie trailer.  So we made this cover of I Kissed A Girl in the style of a movie trailer!  Check it out, we worked really hard on this stuff.  We made both a female version and a male version.
 
 

I've been super busy in the recording studio.  My band, Black Ramen, just recorded 8 songs and our rep is pitching them to high budget movies. Hopefully our music will be selected, and then we can be in a Hollywood movie.  That would be freakishly awesome.  I'm going to post our songs on YouTube tomorrow, so stick around and I'll make another journal entry with those links.

In other news, our band needs to do more photoshoots.  We are very new, only been around for a couple months, so we don't have much media up.  We have songs, and our rep keeps pitching them to commercials and Netflix and movies and stuff.  Anyways, after we do some photoshoots, I thought it would be a fun idea to support the art community and commision some artists to do fun portraits of our band.  The funny part is - I realize I kinda only know poets and writers on DA.  I don't really hang around the visual art section THAT much.  I'm gonna start browsing around for people who do commissions.    Anyone have any good suggestions for artists who do commissions, let me know! Happy to spend money on my fellow artists. 

Okay okay okay, so those few of you who follow me know that I've been having a damn rough year.  It's about time to share some other parts of my life with you guys, because I want to get out of this stupid hole that I'm stuck in.

I'd like to share my other passion with ya.  My real love in life is writing and performing music.  I play guitar in several different bands, some of them cover bands, some of them original projects.  I'm also signed to Music Of The Sea and Epic Music LA, which are both music placement companies.  These are different than a traditional record deal - instead of funding tours and albums, these companies connect artists to TV shows and movies that need music.  Music Of The Sea has already placed my original songs in a few TV shows that are going to be released later in 2018.  In fact, one of my songs is under review for a huge movie deal right now.  I can't legally tell you what it is, but it's a TV show from the 90's that's being turned into a high end movie right now.  Most American kids born in the 90's/2000's have probably watched the TV show and you probably know the series really well.    I also have a few songs that are on rotation at Fox Sports.  You know those little jingles when the commentator is transitioning to a commercial and he says, "We'll be right back." and there's that energetic, exciting music behind him?  I wrote that!!! 

The most exciting thing is my original band, Black Ramen.  We have been in the planning stages for about 3 months and things are going surprisingly well.  We've got a four song demo that we're finishing up.  We're not going to release the songs right away, because we want to film killer music videos.  We've got pro videographers, costumer designers, makeup artists, etc. all on board for this one.  That's gonna take all of spring to get done.  By summertime, this band is going to be ready to hit the market.  I can't wait.
