Literature Text

I separated once, my sense of self
tucked it away under rocky shelves,
The dust that was left, that gentle refrain
was the dust of ghosts that speak no name.

I discovered you there, once I woke complete
eyes holding secrets never meant to keep
The rocks protected what we never knew
that sliver of self acknowledged misuse

I speculated, once, I was one of two things:
a migrating bird, or a blossom in spring.
What sort of shock we assume we'd admire
When the turth shows its face to prove we are liars

I broke myself down, once to prove I'm alive
and found I knew not what possesses my mind.
Truths are difficult and reality remains
I separated myself then pieced together the stains

Life chances once, through each of our eyes
expect where experiences wring us dry
I'm still searching for that diamond in the sand
I'm still understanding how to be human.
Because seriously, being human is tricky business.

Literally, went to a therapist and started breaking myself down in order to understand some stuff. It makes me even more confused. I don't understand why we are the way we are. I don't understand why life is what it is. Too much death recently. I'm confused about everything.
